The Power of a Pencil Sketch

Sometimes the best ideas begin with just a pencil and a blank page.

I’ve been sketching a series of furniture concepts lately. Looking at them now, a clear direction is already visible.

The pieces share the same language — clean geometry, solid volumes, and a careful balance between mass and open space. They feel quiet and confident.

One is a long, low console with open shelves. Another pair of solid blocks sits side by side, almost in conversation. The strongest sketch is a hybrid desk with attached storage volumes. Simple forms, clear proportions, and a grounded presence.

These drawings are still rough. The lines are imperfect. But the idea is already strong. Before the computer work and material samples, this stage feels the most honest.

Solid forms. Warm material. Furniture that doesn’t shout, but still holds the room.

Still early days, but the direction feels right.
